Confession time – I am a Texan at heart.
I love Texas. Texas was once a republic before joining the United States and I admire independence. Maybe that’s it. I have spent about half of my life living there off and on during my seventy-plus years. Perhaps that’s it. Not sure why I love Texas. I just do. That may be why I have set my manuscripts in east Texas. I also like history. I guess that explains why I chose to write historical romance. And I love mystery. Maybe that’s why I want to include suspense in what I write.
I am also a retired teacher. During my 25+ years in education, I was blessed to travel to many different states. However, I still choose Texas as my #1 state when writing. Despite my love of Texas, I am now living in Tennessee. I will confess it is a beautiful state so I don’t object to living there.
I enjoy hiking, writing (of course), spending time with family and friends, painting (I am still an amateur), serving God through Maranatha projects all over the United States, telling others about God’s wonderful love and gracious goodness in my life, and experiencing God’s amazing adventures in my life.
